TEAM TRYOUTS FOR 9TH-12TH GRADE STUDENTS

Practice will begin mid August for both Varsity and JV. If there are any roster spots available, there will be a tryout for those spots in September 2023.

Sports physicals are required before athlete can begin August practices.

Cheer Team consists of 12-16 varsity cheerleaders (which includes stunt partners) and the JV team 10- 12 cheerleaders, male stunt partners and a mascot. We support Capital High School and the athletic teams by promoting school spirit and good sportsmanship. As a team, we carry on a tradition of excellence in the athletic arena by producing advanced stunts, encouraging student participation and providing supportive leadership.

Practice Schedule: We begin our regular season practice schedule in mid -August, and continue our season through March. Our regular practice is upstairs wrestling room, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights 5:30 – 7:00 PM, and every Thursday morning from 6:00 to 7:00 AM.

Safety Information: Each cheerleader, stunt partner and mascot MUST have a completed sports physical and signed concussion form before the regular practice season begins in August. We require all cheer team members to participate and correctly perform standard stunting progressions to assure team stunts are safe and performed by experienced team members. Both coaches are required to maintain their AACA certification, and review the mandatory on-line spirit rules video provided by the Montana High School Association.

Forms and Fees: All required forms can be found on the Activities Home Page as well as the CHS Main Office. The activity fee is $80 for the first sport which includes the required activity pass/ticket.
