In Spanish 2, the students continue to build communication skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.  They increase their understanding of Hispanic culture, geography and history.  They will learn additional grammar and vocabulary by reading novels, short stories, and articles written by Hispanic authors that have been adapted for students at this level. Other class activities include viewing authentic Hispanic films, making presentations and participating in class discussions.  A solid background in Spanish 1 is required, and students need to be able to follow directions and organize material.  Those who finish the course successfully qualify for Spanish 3.  Prerequisite(s): Spanish 1. Students who take Spanish 1 in 8^th grade are required to get their teacher’s signature to register for Spanish 2.
