6160   Visual Arts Design 2

This is a second-level course designed to continue building upon the ideas of design and 3-dimensional art. This “Hands On” art class offers a variety of additive and subtractive concepts to deepen students’ understanding of sculpture and design. Emphasis is put on ideas, design, and execution of individual pieces as well as exploration of materials. Students will enhance their learning about media, subject matter, art history, and 3-dimensional artists. Students will work with found objects, repurposed materials, plaster, glass, metal, ink, printmaking, and other mediums to create work that reflects their knowledge of the course objects as well as the expression of their ideas. There is a class fee of $20, and extra supplies may need to be provided by the student.
