1412    English 4A (Multicultural Literature)

This class explores cultures from around the world, from Buddhist monks to Afghan kite runners. We learn about different time periods: gunpowder plots, terrorist plane bombings, and Mexican soap operas. Using film, short-stories, non-fiction, and one intense Shakespeare play, we will discuss universal themes through a multi-cultural lens. The goal of this class is to expose you to as many exciting stories as possible, learn how not to read, and discover about yourself.
