Thomas Baty

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Choir Members,

It is my sincere pleasure to once again welcome back our hard-working singers.  I hope that everyone had a relaxing and reenergizing break over the Summer months.  I am sooooo excited to dig in and renew the energy and enthusiasm for the excellent choral music that our students have been creating for years.

As we hit “refresh” on a new school year it is important to reflect on our past accomplishments and think critically about how to grow further as musicians and individuals.  Last year we took on many challenges such as the Winter Gala Concert, the Helena Women’s Festival, and the Salt Lake City Tour, and came out of each with increased confidence, knowledge and skills.  This year, I would like to give a special focus to individual skill building and inject a healthy dose of pride into each singer, our choral program as a whole, and the impact we make on the greater Helena community.  I believe that music is a practice that connects us like no other, and I feel distinctly privileged to share that practice with our Capital High students, families, friends, and neighbors.

It is a priority of mine to maintain a cooperative and communicative network with parents.  This helps to ensure that students have premium musical experiences and a solid framework of support both in and out of class.  The best way to contact me is by email.  Please do not hesitate to do so with any questions or concerns: tbaty@helenaschools.org.

I am so excited to be making music with the Capital High School students again, and I cannot wait to share and experience the musical achievements of another year.

All the Best,

Thomas Baty
