EXPECTATION OF THE WEEK: 

Be Responsible by being honest and considerate

The French Club will be selling Le Popcorn in both foyers at lunch today.  There are 7 different gourmet flavors.  $3.00 a bag or two bags for $5.00.  Come down and get your goodies.

Semester exams are next week and your QSA club cares about your success! Please come and feed your beautiful brain from our bake sale next Tuesday at lunch in the main foyer. We will have an assortment of goodies to choose from to give you the calories you desperately need. We will also be selling goods Wednesday morning in the library foyer.

Just a reminder, during semester test week, the library is for homework and studying only – no gaming or socializing – we need to keep it very quiet. We’ll see you the following week for regular activities. Thanks!

JUNIORS:  If you have NOT received your PSAT score report, please pick it up in the Counseling Center this week.

Coaches McMahon, Kelly, and Darfler would like to meet briefly with any interested Girl’s Track Distance/Cross Country athletes after school on Tuesday, January 14th.  We will plan on meeting in the Fitness Center at 3:25.

WINTER FORMAL will be Friday, Feb 7th at the Airport upstairs ball room from 8-11pm.  Tickets will be on sale soon.

Youth in Government meets today at lunch in Tech 2. All current members who plan on attending the Youth Legislature in April need to attend. New members welcome!

EXPECTATION OF THE WEEK: 

Be a Graduate by representing CHS with pride

We want everyone to purchase Pack the Place in Pink shirts for the boys’ and girls’ Crosstown basketball games in January.  Capital will have black shirts and Helena High will have white shirts this is a great chance to show school spirit and raise money for a great cause. We want to make sure our school has plenty of black shirts in the crowd.  Shirts must be ordered by today at the UAS online store.  You can get the link to order your shirt at the front office.

According to novelist Pico Iyer:  “A person susceptible to wanderlust is not so much addicted to movement as they are committed to transformation”.   Collecting life-changing experiences around the globe and learning about cultures hands on is the focus of Capital High’s Premier Travel Club.  Come to room T7 on Monday at lunch to find out how you can walk the cobblestone streets of Europe, take architectural photos of ancient cities, and write a moving college essay on your transformative experiences abroad. That’s T7 on Monday.

Did you know that New Year’s Eve is a grand occasion in Madrid with thousands of people celebrating together in streets that are sparkling with fabulous lights and decorations? To find out what is so unique about their traditions, how you can travel abroad with your peers, and how Mrs. Anderson was able to secure 12 months of good luck come by room T7 in the shops today at lunch!

Winter workouts for track will be today at 3:30 in the gym.   Come dressed out ready to work. 

Night To Shine Auditions are today and Friday at Helena Middle School starting at 5pm.  Audition times are posted at the main office, Bear Necessities, and outside of Mr. Dawes room at Tech 1 Night To Shine tickets go on sale.

Tomorrow at 5pm and 7pm the wrestling team will be having a double header against CMR and Great Falls High. It will be teacher appreciation night. Come out and support all the people that have inspired you in your educational journey.

The Capital High Boys Basketball program is having a fundraiser on Wednesday, January 8th so please plan on dining at Buffalo Wild Wings and help the basketball program raise funds. Buffalo Wild Wings® will donate 20% of sales from redeemed coupons on the day of this event.  Coupons are at the front office.

Expectation of the Week:

Attention students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses:

Payment for the AP exams begins Thursday, Oct 10th and runs through Thursday, Oct 31st.  The cost is $100 per exam and should be paid through the bookkeeper.

This week is Career Week in the Career Center for those students who will be entering the workforce or military out of high school.

On Tuesday we will offer a career Q&A luncheon. Pizza will be provided.

On Thursday we will offer a military careers Q&A at lunchtime.

A representative from Missoula College will be in the Career Center today at 11:30 am.

A representative from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont will be in the Career Center tomorrow at 2:30. Please see Mrs. Doran if you would like a pass to either of these presentations.

Senior trip? Family time? Christmas? Birthday? Graduation gift? College entrance boost? Educational opportunity of a Lifetime?  You name it!!!!  Come with Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Butler to Rome and Greece and cross off an epoch travel experience from your bucket list!  Come to our Wednesday, October 23rd parent/student fundraising meeting in the photo room T 7 at 5:30.  See you there!

For anyone interested in playing tennis this spring, there will be an informational meeting in Coach Swenson’s room (207) at lunch next Tuesday. We will discuss open gym dates and times, important season information, our fundraiser, and a new  club membership scholarship. This meeting will be brief but it is important. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Coach Swenson next week to get the information. Bring a friend to room 207 at lunch next Tuesday if you are interested in playing tennis this spring, we hope to see you there!

Join Youth in Government and see where you fit in. Run for governor, be a senator, lawyer, representative, judge, or reporter. At the same time, you will make great friends across the state and learn about democracy. Come to the Youth in Government meeting today and find out what is all about!

Thank you to all of you who donated kids’ food pack items for Food Share- Capital High ended up winning the crosstown food drive as it was announced at crosstown volleyball last Thursday evening.  Students from CHS are able to attend the volleyball games this Tuesday night for free as a result of the victory. Bring your school ID.
