Weekly Update 4.30.2017

Rumors, prom, bad weather, Vigilante Parade registration, Senior Awards Night, National Honor Society Induction…..it must be approaching springtime at Capital High School.  Wow!  In regard to the phrase, “If nothing is happening in your school, nothing is happening,” perhaps all of these events are just signs that life is rolling right along here at 100 Valley Drive.  I can’t believe it is almost May- there is a lot still to be accomplished!

A big thank you to Kyle Mihelish and Pat Larson, junior class sponsors, for their efforts with prom.  Also, thank you to Walt Chancy, Sheila Richmond, Sue Baranek, Ryan Swenson, James Irby, Don Foucar, Kent Haab, and Scott Andrews for all of your efforts in chaperoning a high school dance on a Saturday night!  Click on the following link for a brief glimpse of the dance      Tell What Happened

This week marks Teacher Appreciation Week– on behalf of Walt and Kathy- thank you for all of your efforts in making Capital High School a better place!  Last week was Administrative Assistants Week– please be sure to thank them for all of their efforts in making sure that CHS runs smoothly.  We are fortunate at CHS to have such a committed staff.  Throughout the chaos associated with this time of the year, please be sure to keep reminding yourself of the great things happening here at CHS as we continue to advance to the end of another great academic year.  To thank you for all of your efforts, Student Council is sponsoring a staff lunch on Wednesday.  Food from Panda Express should arrive at 11:30. Please make sure to avoid a second trip through the line until everyone has had a chance to go through.   Cake will also be served for dessert.

I hope that many of you were able to make it to one of the Rumors performances last week.  What an outstanding job by Laura Brayko and our students!
